ANG MINERO Partylist aims to protect the workforce behind the mining industry, from the average employees to the biggest corporations, to protect the people and the environment and to promote responsible mining operations. In support to this advocacy for the May 2013 Local and National Elections, Platinum Group Metals Corporation (PGMC), through the Community Relations and Development Department (CRDD), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department and the Environmental Control Department (ECD), took part on the partylist’s election campaigns from the PGMC Mine Site, to the Municipality of Claver and to the Province of Surigao del Norte.

MUNICIPAL WIDE CARAVAN: MAY 5 - The ANG MINERO Partylist municipal wide caravan, which was organized by its National Coordinator, Mr. Aaaa B. Cccc, started at 9:00 o’clock in the morning at Claver Municipal Grounds. PGMC, together with Shenzhou Mining Group of Companies (SMGC), Adnama Mining Resources Incorporated (AMRI), Taganito Mining Corporation (TMC), and Manila Mining Corporation (MMC), showed support for the ANG MINERO Partylist candidacy. Employees from these companies distributed leaflets and posted tarpaulins at conspicuous places. Large speakers which played the partylist’s campaign jingle drew people’s attention at the barangays where the team roved. The caravan ended at Barangay Cagdianao Gymnasium where a small talk was held informing the public of the agenda of ANG MINERO Partylist and its support to responsible mining practices.

PGMC MINE SITE INFORMATION DRIVE: MAY 9 - Community Relations and Development Department (CRDD) together with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department visited all the mine site departments of PGMC in a undertaking to strengthen the campaign for ANG MINERO Partylist. The endeavor was headed by Mr. Marnell D. Tumulak, Community Relations and Development Officer together with Ms. Gerlie B. Jayme, Information Communication Education Officer and Mr. Tyrone M. Francisco, Officer-in-Charge of the CSR Department. A video presentation highlighting the partylist’s mission, vision and its nominees was played to enlighten the employees why a vote for the partylist ought to be casted. Engr. Richard C. Gimenez’ message was a part of the presentation, requesting the employees of the company to support for the ANG MINERO Partylist. A ten - minute talk was also prepared to promote the great impact of the mining industry to the advancement of technology and the overwhelming benefits it provide to the community. It was also pointed out that the partylist will serve as a voice of the mining industry to the Philippine Congress.

PROVINCIAL WIDE CARAVAN: MAY 10 - Mr. Resty Rebulos, Community Relations Officer of Manila Mining Corporation (MMC) spearheaded the 3rd round of the ANG MINERO Partylist caravan which targeted the entire mainland are of the Province of Surigao del Norte. Claver, having the most number of mining companies was the first destination. Manila Mining Corporation (MMC), Greenstone Resources Corporation (GRC), Silangan Mining Corporation (SMC) and PGMC joined the provincial wide caravan. MMC led the caravan playing the partylist’s Jingle to get the attention of the residents followed by Greenstone who had the Bugle corps to attract more followers. The employees who joined the caravan distributed leaflets and asked for support from the public. The caravan ended at 6:00 o’clock in the afternoon at Badas, Surigao del Norte after visiting Surigao City, the municipalities of Gigaquit, Bacuag, Placer, Taganaan, Sison, Timamana, Tubod, Mainit, Surigao del Norte and Alegria and Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte.
